Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-04-23 · Published by MELMAC Network
This policy covers the hitfactor.app website and the Hit Factor apps — Hit Factor Calculator and Hit Factor Trainer — when used as native mobile/desktop apps or via their web versions at calculator.hitfactor.app and trainer.hitfactor.app. We try to keep this policy plain enough to actually read.
Summary (the short version)
- Hit Factor Calculator runs entirely on your device. It collects nothing and sends nothing.
- Hit Factor Trainer is offline-first and works fully without an account. It only sends data off your device if you sign in and enable cloud sync.
- If you sign in, we store your email, display name, and (optionally) your attempt history in Google Firebase on our behalf.
- If you buy Hit Factor Pro, the purchase is handled by Apple, Google, or RevenueCat. We receive your Pro entitlement status but not your payment method.
- We don’t run ads, don’t sell data, and don’t use third-party analytics or marketing trackers.
1. Information we collect
1a. Hit Factor Calculator
No personal data is collected. The app runs locally and does not communicate with our servers.
1b. Hit Factor Trainer — anonymous use
The app functions fully without an account. All training data (attempts, favorites, custom stages, settings) stays on your device in a local SQLite database.
1c. Hit Factor Trainer — with an account
When you sign in with Google, Apple, or email/password, we store the following in Google Firebase (hosted by Google LLC):
- Your email address and display name (as provided by the sign-in provider).
- A user ID generated by Firebase Authentication.
- Your Pro entitlement status (if you have purchased or been granted Pro).
- If cloud sync is enabled: your settings, favorites, custom stages, and (for Pro users) attempt history.
Firebase Authentication may also receive and process your IP address and device type as part of normal sign-in security. See Firebase’s privacy documentation.
1d. Contact form on hitfactor.app
When you submit the contact form, we collect the information you provide (name, email address, optional phone number, and message). This is delivered to our inbox via Resend (a transactional email provider), and retained in our email system for as long as needed to respond. Your IP address is briefly held in server memory for rate limiting (spam prevention) and is not stored persistently.
1e. In-app purchases
Hit Factor Trainer Pro is a one-time or subscription in-app purchase, processed by:
- Apple on iOS and macOS (subject to Apple’s privacy policy).
- Google on Android (subject to Google Play’s privacy policy).
- RevenueCat, Inc., which we use to validate receipts and manage entitlements across platforms. RevenueCat receives your anonymous user ID, platform, and transaction metadata. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
We do not receive your credit card or payment-method information.
1f. Bluetooth timer integration
If you pair a Bluetooth shot timer, communication happens directly between the app and the timer. No timer data is transmitted to our servers unless you have cloud sync enabled and Pro active.
2. How we use your information
- To operate the apps and website (account creation, sign-in, cloud sync, in-app purchases).
- To send transactional emails you expect — email verification, password reset, welcome message, purchase receipt.
- To reply to contact-form inquiries.
- To improve the apps based on bug reports and user feedback you send us directly.
3. How we don’t use your information
- We don’t sell or rent your information.
- We don’t use it for advertising or marketing outside of Hit Factor itself.
- We don’t share it with third parties except the service providers listed below.
4. Service providers (processors)
We use the following third parties to operate Hit Factor:
- Google Firebase — Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, hosting for the website and web apps.
- RevenueCat — cross-platform entitlement management for in-app purchases.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (welcome, verification, contact-form receipts).
- Cloudflare — DNS and CDN for
hitfactor.appand its subdomains. - Apple App Store, Google Play, Microsoft Store, Snap Store — distribution and payment processing for the apps.
Each of these processes limited data on our behalf under their own terms and security commitments.
5. Data retention
- Account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account from within the Hit Factor Trainer app (Settings → Delete account), which removes your Firestore data and Firebase Auth record.
- Contact-form inquiries are retained in our inbox until no longer relevant.
- Backups may persist for up to 30 days after deletion, then are purged by our providers.
- Free-trial abuse prevention. When you delete your account, we retain a one-way SHA-256 hash of your email address (no plaintext, no name, no other identifying information) along with the date you originally signed up. This entry persists after deletion and is used solely to determine eligibility for our 30-day free Pro trial if you sign up again with the same email. This is necessary to prevent users from cycling accounts to indefinitely re-claim the trial. The hash cannot be reversed to recover your email. To request removal of your hash entry, contact [email protected].
6. Children’s privacy
Hit Factor is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can exercise most of these directly in the Hit Factor Trainer app (Settings) or by contacting us at [email protected].
8. Security
We rely on industry-standard security from our providers (Firebase, RevenueCat, Resend) including TLS in transit and encryption at rest. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. International transfers
Our service providers operate servers primarily in the United States. By using Hit Factor, you consent to the transfer and processing of your information in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “Effective” date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced in the app or via email.
